Understanding Foot And Ankle Osteoarthritis

Your feet and ankles have it tough. Not only are they responsible for carrying your entire bodyweight, they can be squeezed into all manner of ill-fitting and unsupportive footwear – a recipe for wear, tear and osteoarthritis.

Structure of the feet

Your ankle consists of seven bones, collectively known as 'tarsals', which are stacked and arranged between the bones of the lower leg (the tibia – or shinbone – and the smaller fibula) and the bones of your feet.
