Participating in competitive sport can be a great motivator for sticking with physical activity. Even if you’re just out for a fun run and competing against the clock, the satisfaction of smashing a long-held goal should not be underestimated. And while nothing beats preparing physically, attending to the mental side of performing well under pressure may give you a significant boost when it comes to reaching a long-treasured goal or overcoming your competitors.
