Getting Help: Individual Counselling

If your idea of counselling is reclining on a leather couch, revealing your dreams and childhood experiences to a bespectacled old man, it's time to turn off the TV and learn what really happens.

Most of us are more comfortable discussing our physical health than mental health – despite improved awareness there are still some people who attach a certain stigma to mental health issues. But just as you go and see your doctor when you experience physical pain or discomfort, it makes sense to see a counsellor if you don't feel right mentally.
