Getting your Vitamin D

Vitamin D is no less important than calcium when it comes to bone health. In addition to strengthening bones, it helps to improve the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the digestive system and control calcium levels in the bloodstream. So when you don't have enough vitamin D, you can't fully absorb the calcium from the foods you eat. This increases the risk of developing osteoporosis and makes existing osteoporosis even worse.
