It’s not uncommon for a fractured wrist to be the first indication that someone has osteoporosis.

It makes sense really. The wrist made of up of small, relatively delicate bones. When you combine that with the natural tendency to break a fall by putting out your hand, the wrist is an obvious place for fractures to occur.
