Warning Signs For Eating Disorders

While research has suggested eating disorders may be caused by an imbalance of chemicals in the brain, a Spanish study has shown parents can play a part in reducing the risk of these illnesses occurring.

The study, led by Dr Miguel Angel Martinez-Gonzalez and colleagues from Spain's University of Navarra, surveyed 2,862 young women aged between 12 and 21 about their eating habits. Those with apparent eating disorders were interviewed by psychiatrists.
