Professor Gordon S. Lynch

Professor Gordon S. Lynch completed his Ph.D in Muscle Physiology at the University of Melbourne and postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan. He is currently Professor of Physiology at the University of Melbourne.

Professor Lynch is the recipient of several awards including the C.J. Martin Research Fellowship, R. Douglas Wright Research Fellowship (National Health and Medical Research Council), Australian Research Fellowship (Australian Research Council) and the A.K. McIntyre Medal (Young Investigator Award) from the Australian Physiological and Pharmacological Society (1995).

He is a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (National Strength & Conditioning Association, USA) and Level 1, Strength & Conditioning Coach (Australian Strength & Conditioning Association).

Winner of the National Asthma Council's National Journalism Award in 2002 and finalist in the Australian Government Eureka Prize for promoting understanding of science, Professor Lynch also has a weekly health and fitness segment on the national ABC Radio "Overnights" program. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Physiology (2003-2008).
